What is included?
Upon purchase, you’ll receive themes of this Venus retrograde for each rising sign, an intial journalling prompt to prepare you to wander these mystic, sacred paths and access to a Qobuz playlist of Venus in Scorpio music for those who wish to move into this somatically.
From 3rd Oct weekly journal prompts will be delivered to you, along with accompanying meditations. Plese note that the descent from the retrograde into the Sun’s embrace (10-24 Oct) is an intensive stripping away period, where daily journalling and meditation is suggested. You’re encouraged to set aside 15-20 mins per day to make the most of this, but doing this just two days a week will have an impact.
Why is this period sacred?
When Venus retrogrades, her bright light vanishes from the evening sky. As she reaches the sun’s embrace, she is hidden for 40 days then reborn in the morning sky. This year her backwards motion starts in the sign of Scorpio, often associated with places of watery stillness, like deep oceans and briny wetlands.
The ancient Babylonians believed Venus to be the goddess Inanna and established a myth about her regular disappearance as a descent into the underworld to accept and reclaim her shadow self, then be reborn into light on the other side. The ancient poem “The Descent of Inanna” depicts the goddess shedding her adornments and symbols of power at 7 different gates before she meets her shadow self/sister and dies. Then humble creatures of the earth are sent to her aid, bringing her back to life. As she travels towards the light, she is reminded by them and others of her true power, the honest love of people around her.
