Virgo eclipse & Libra season 2025

VIRGO ECLIPSE
22 September, 5.50 am (AEST) at 29 Virgo

This eclipse season has been washing through the world, bringing enchanting future possibilities while also dredging up your mind’s worst fears. Yearnings for Pisces compassion and imagination are balanced with Virgo’s practicality, while also highlighting the mental anxieties this sign can bring.

Today’s solar eclipse at 29 Virgo, with its South Node energy, occurred right near the equinox and holds such quiet power. Amplifying Virgo’s ability to sort the wheat from the chaff—purify, simplify, clarify—is the call of the virgin’s sign. Think of your body after days of fasting: clean, quiet, at rest. Hollowed like a bell, now capable of deep resonance once the noise of food has been removed. In this state of clarity, perceive who or what creates the most noise in your life, and ask yourself whether it must remain. Mercury in Libra will help you let go gently and with diplomacy. Remember, eclipses are karmic tuning forks, so know that lines drawn in the sand now can echo strongly into the future, helping you release old behaviours and beliefs.

Saturn in Pisces opposing this eclipse brings its own capstone, as it asks what anchors you’ve thrown into its mystical waters since early 2023. What pathways to the higher have you paved, what relationships with the unseen have you nurtured? It’s not too late to conclude these before Saturn leaves Pisces next February.

This eclipse may be showing you a door, or demanding boundaries so others can’t take advantage of your empathy. Perhaps last Thursday already illustrated what is coming to an end. Remember, you are a human being, not an untapped resource for anyone to take as they wish. Push back on hustle culture and enjoy the space to be present with yourself, starting today.

Yes, it is a New Moon, and normally my favourite New Moon for setting practical intentions. However, setting intentions for eclipses can cause major headaches for your future self. My tip—set intentions for calm yet powerful purges: social media, challenging relationships, your own harmful behaviours or self-critical beliefs—this is the most beneficial use of today’s energy.

LIBRA SEASON

In the early hours of tomorrow, the eclipse energy closes as the equinox begins. The Sun moves into Libra at 4:19 am (AEST), though with Libra’s ruler Venus remaining in Virgo until 14 October, the grounded Virgo vibe lingers. Pretty and purposeful, simple and stunning, elegant in its efficiency. Bringing spring here in the Southern Hemisphere, energy is ramping up, while it’s all things harvest and autumn for our Northern friends. Try a ritual that celebrates the energy of your place, whether it’s welcoming the light down south or the dark in the north.

Important dates to note for Libra Season 2025:

23-24 September
Another powerful few days as the Sun, newly in Libra, will spotlight all the outer planets and bring their rumblings to the foreground. Sun opposite Neptune in Aries may bring tension in relationships as you juggle the needs of others while trying to stay true to your own visions. Embrace the idea that neither is right nor wrong, and it’s okay to get messy in your attempts. The air trine with Uranus and Pluto could help here by keeping the lines of communication humming with power. This energy supports new choices around learning, networking or technology, as the deeper implications of any changes you make will be readily apparent.

4 October
Venus on the South Node shows beauty in hidden places and is a day when traditional Venusian pursuits may yield less favourable results. A wardrobe purge, simplified beauty routine, or acknowledging relationship issues and applying some elbow grease towards better outcomes are all good uses of Venus’ lowered energy today. Those with strong Taurus or Libra themes—consider this your permission slip for a day of slothing!

7-8 October
Mercury slides into Scorpio’s perceptive waters and then squares Pluto in Aquarius, bringing our thoughts to deeper, hidden places. Mercury in Scorpio can spot a lie from 100 metres, but can also skew perceptions—creating mountains out of molehills, especially when Pluto is involved. These are days to read between the lines and devise strategies, but hold off enacting final plans until the Pluto energy clears.

14-15 October
Venus sashays into Libra and follows the Sun’s lead from 23-24 September. A magical day as Venus meets Neptune, but be careful not to make important decisions based on fantasy. Communication issues get a lift, as Venus in Libra brings fairness and an urge for harmony to all involved. The 15th is especially favourable for dispute resolution or healing deeper wounds in relationships.

20 October
If ever the pen is mightier than the sword, it’s today, as Mercury meets Mars in strategic Scorpio. Perfect for planning or contesting with words, though some armour is recommended if you engage! For a lighter touch, it’s a great day for playing tactical games like Dungeons and Dragons or Catan.

22 October
Neptune re-enters Pisces for a final rest in its mystic waters before beginning a 13-year stint on Aries’ battlefield next January. Enjoy the respite from assertion and boldness, and make the most of Neptune’s urgings for peace, magic, and imagination. Like a last cooling bath before an adventurous journey, perhaps reflect on what you’ve learned from Neptune in Pisces, and plan how best to employ its forthright, visionary energy in the coming decade.

* You may have noticed I’m no longer talking directly to world events. It’s not because of ignorance or lack of care but quite the opposite. I know what is happening, and I also know the only way to meet the future is with an open-heart and clear mind. My work now is towards resilience, both online and locally. To help myself and others stay at our core, to stay intact and not be led astray by anxiety and fear in these increasingly turbulent times.

  1. I have chosen to leave world events to others to resolve as I stay focused on my health, raising my vibration and keeping my focus close to home and how I can be of service here.

    1. You’re very welcome Joel, on reflection, did it help you make good use of the month? Love to hear your experience…
